Of Sanity and Courage!

Daring death is one thing few can do...... actually in the history of man its only Jesus who embraced Death....that is with exception of movie stars who are painted as super-humans with superlative intellect and courage beyond a lion's imagination. Everybody values their life and its quite normal that when confronted with a situation that's life-threatening one will do anything to secure at-least another day on this earth.
For instance a friend of mine was on a hike with a few friends in the Nairobi arboretum and as fate would have it he and and his girlfriend and another couple who had too much fun decided to walk in the dark back to town. They were accosted by three dudes welding machetes; they relieved them of their phones and cash and even had the nerve to give one of the girls 50/- fare after she pleaded. To some that was foolish because since they were four, and the guys were three armed with machetes they would argue that, it was possible to fight them off! Now, compare that with this........
woman shot dead in a shop robbery in Luthuli Avenue after daring the robbers to shoot her! One could say that was courage or any other positive attribute but it brought irreversible repercussions.

Courage or no courage one life less is no good for our economy. people should understand that armed robbers are on another level of sanity, its like they are in a battle with the world and anything that stands in their way they will definitely eliminate. The same goes for any living thing when pushed to the limit.

But what would drive someone to such risky decisions? I'd say emotions, irrational thinking and underestimation....... I think most of the time we should trust our instincts, but sometimes nope........
