University Don to head education ministry

The first full professor of periodontology  in Kenya is now likely to be at the helm of the now robust ministry of Education if  approved by parliament.

The  62 year old Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi is the current Deputy Vice-chancellor academic affairs at the University of Nairobi. He is also a fellow of the International College of Dentists  and was once the President of the Commonwealth Dental Association.

The professor who is also the chairman of  the board of governors of Meru School will be tasked with raising the level of education and improving the teacher student ratio in all public primary and secondary schiools

A keen eye is to be kept on how the standards of the elevated national schools are going to be uplifted to be at par with the existing ones.
The don is also going to handle the full-realization over 10 new universities chartered by Retired President Kibaki which are viewed by most students and critics with a lot of skepticism.;

Also if approved by parliament he is going to ioversee the implementation of the Jubilee government campaign promise of free laptops for primary school pupils.

But he doesn't lack controversy as students of the UoN are accusing him of being the most ineffective Dvc and are campaigning not only for his rejection but they prefer him sent home!
